St. Pete Community Acupuncture

Greg Jones is the owner and acupuncturist at St. Pete Community Acupuncture.  He is a Diplomate of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology of the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed as an Acupuncture Physician in the state of Florida.

Originally from Harrisburg, PA, I joined the Army in 1991 and served as a cavalry scout with the 10th Mountain Division in Somalia.  Then moved to Syracuse, after leaving the Army, and attended college at the State University of New York college of ESF, and earned a BS (magna cum laude) in Biology with a concentration in pre-med.  While in Syracuse, I also became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician. 

Along the way, I earned a deep respect for the natural healing abilities of the human body (and all living things for that matter).  Then I heard about acupuncture, how it works with the body's own natural abilities, not against them.  I was hooked.  It was off to acupuncture school in sunny St. Petersburg, FL (which I now call home) where I graduated from The Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2002.

After several years of practice, acupuncture was becoming more and more accepted into mainstream America (no surprise here, it works).  In many ways this is a good thing.  The problem is acupuncture, like the rest of the health-care system, has become prohibitively expensive for most people.  I started to realize that something wasn't right when my own friends and family, as well as most Americans,  couldn't afford acupuncture.

Acupuncture is simple, safe, and very effective, but in order for it to truly be valuable, it also needs to be accessible and affordable.  So St. Pete Community Acupuncture was born.
